Tell us, what are you doing right now and what does your professional life look like?

As someone who is highly motivated by the possibility of always learning something new, my chosen career path reflects the same.

What makes your industry so exciting for you?

The possibility to always learn something new. Setting up in-house procedures and standards in compliance with IT best practices to ensure security of IT infrastructure while maintaining an open environment for international scientific collaboration.

How do you imagine your future professional career? What career paths, opportunities for advancement or professional fields would you like to pursue in the next few years?

I would like to explore opportunities that give me the exposure of more travel and understanding of challenges that IT at other such institutes face or the solutions they discover to problems we are facing or might face in the future. Gaining enough experience to one day lead a group of my own.

Application processes are always exciting. How do you remember this phase immediately after graduation? Were there any particular challenges?

I graduated while we were still in the 2nd phase of the pandemic so obviously there was more of online interview processes, while on one end it was easier to apply and give interviews from the comfort of your house however for me the chance to interact and make an impression in person was missing. Additionally in Germany language is always a challenge, it is always better to have a good command of it while you are still a student.

What have you learnt from your studies that is helpful in the working world?

For me the 5-week module structure worked best, the chance to learn, understand and reproduce the knowledge on paper while being focused on only 2 or 3 subjects at a time.

It's been a long time: How did you decide on your degree programme?

After gaining some experience in IT in my home country I wanted to polish my skills further with a Master’s Degree.

What made your studies at 鶹ýӳ Heidelberg special

The experience of a foreign country with a well-defined course structure where practical work and theory go hand in hand.

What experiences would you like to pass on to students or young alumni on their journey?

Try to get a good balance of learning your coursework, looking for workstudent/Internships as well as learning German language.

My quote:

“My professors were always available to provide guidance and as well as give me enough space to explore and learn by myself.”
