Development of target group-specific variants of a board game for teaching quantum technologies QUANTista

Four people are standing around a table, surrounded by various board games. They are smiling and holding some games in their hands while looking at the camera.

Brief description

Development of target group-specific variants of a board game to teach quantum technologies.

Playing is a primal phenomenon of humans, of life and of nature. Quantum physics describes phenomena as nature plays. This game is much more efficient than a linear approach. Future quantum computers will bring an exorbitant increase in performance for AI topics, because it will no longer be possible to use the limited states, current flows, current does not flow, zero and one, but numerous parallel processes, as diverse as nature works.

The Institute of Ludology, as the initiator of the “Stiftung Spielen” and as an affiliated institute of 鶹ýӳ, currently has a teaching and research collection of over 82,000 board games in the Altenburg Residential Palace. These form the research basis for the development of board games that are to be developed to communicate the topics of quantum physics.

Quantum phenomena, some of which are inexplicable in human perception and classical physics, have already led to numerous product innovations in recent years, such as glass fiber technology for fast Internet, the development of LED light sources or modern laser technology. The QUANTista project aims to highlight the technology and career opportunities that lie in this field of science. Physics and game science (ludology) work closely together here.
