BRIDGES - Strengthening resilience and empowerment through musical relationship spaces

Brief description
The BRIDGES project creates musical meeting and relationship spaces for young refugees in refugee accommodation in Heidelberg. These are formed by the weekly “Spielraum Musik” (music playroom) for joint and free music-making, individual private lessons, band workshops and intercultural concerts. Making music together promotes social interaction, self-esteem and dealing with difficult experiences.
The staff at Bridges are trained in therapy and education so that they can support the participants with their different experiences as refugees in a trauma and culturally sensitive manner.
