Über mich

Über mich

I am currently a Professor of Computer Science at 鶹ýӳ of Applied Sciences. I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Department of Physics at Sharif University of Technology (SUT), one of the top universities in the Middle East, and hold a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Leipzig University in Germany. After completing a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPIPKS) in Dresden, Germany, I worked as a Principal Investigator (PI) at the Technical Universities of Berlin (TUB) and Dresden (TUD). I have also held positions as an Assistant Professor in Physics at SUT, a Research Staff Associate in the Quantitative Life Sciences section at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy, and as a Senior Researcher at the Robert Koch Institute (Public Health), the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (Public Health), and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany.

Selected teaching experiences:

  • Lecturer, Sharif University of Technology (2019-2022): “Computational Physics”, "Modelling Contagious Phenomena", "Non-linear Dynamics & Chaos", "Advanced Topics on Complex Systems"
  • Lecturer, 鶹ýӳ's School of Technology and Architecture, Campus Leipzig (Since 2024): “Programming”, “Tools & Methods of Data Analysis”, “Advanced Mathematics”, “Scientific Work”, “Game Design”

Selected grants awarded:

  • Principal Investigator, Eigene Stelle grant by  (German Research Foundation), TU Dresden, 2020.
  • Principal Investigator, Eigene Stelle grant by  (German Research Foundation), TU Berlin, 2017.
  • Principal Investigator, Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship by IRC, University of Limerick, 2015. (I decided to decline the offer in favour of my position in Berlin)
